Reflection
Paper
This
semester I experienced a very intriguing and meaningful course named CALL. I
found it very practical to leverage on my English learning career. I have
learned quite a few refreshing stuffs from these beneficial websites or
software such as different online dictionaries, corpus tools, Google syntax,
TED talks, My ET to just name a few. The thing that has influenced me the most was
my collocation problem since I knew the online dictionaries including Oxford,
Cambridge and Longman. This is a progressive breakthrough for me to improve my
weakness on English writing section. Moreover, I also loved to make good use of
My ET to enhance my speaking skills. In Taiwan, there is no truly suitable
environment for English learners to communicate with English so it is
definitely a great opportunity to use My ET for strengthening the oral
expression ability.
I did not know how important computer
was before I took this course ! With the advancement of technology, I can amend
our traditional learning method by experiencing these distinct and useful
online resources. It is undoubtedly a plus on my journey of English. Learning
may be a tough process, but I can add some absorbing materials to make it more
colorful. As a result, these online materials play an important role in my
English learning process. Why not give it a try and learn English happily? I
learned a meaningful saying from TED talks that can best describe this course
in this semester: "Success in one percent inspiration and ninety-nine
percent perspiration." We all need that one percent inspiration to spark
our passion in the right direction and ninety-nine percent perspiration to lead
us to success.
From now on, I have had a thorough
understanding about how computer can affect and improve my learning by making
good use of these precious resources. In fact, I did not know that a lot of
digital devices can be beneficial in our learning career before I participated
in this exploration of CALL. Knowing the exclusivity of CALL truly expand my
horizon and enrich my mind. Although I might not continue writing on my blog,
the process of experiencing everything about Computer Assisted Language
Learning is irreplaceable and undeniable.
